We lived and worked in Nicaragua for over 3 years. This was during the early, heady days of the Sandanista Revolution. It was an unstable but exciting time and, for me, provided an opportunity to do some quality, sustainable (at least I hope), rural development work, by far the most satisfying development project we were involved in. Of course, the region also offered many interesting travel opportunities, of which we tried to take full advantage. Many years later, we returned to the area with our kids and had adventures of another kind.
