Homeward bound

  1. Been to Columbia with Pete in 1990 and 2006. I know what you mean about traffic chaos, blasting music, litter and the lack of a reasonable cup of coffee… I recall Pete, in 1990, going nuts ( probably withdrawal symptoms) trying to find his coffee fix, only to find a cup of Nescafé.! He still talks about this! In 2006, we took a liking to the smaller town of Santa Martha, did some great hikes from there. Thanks for your travel stories and happy return to Squamish!

A bientôt. xx

  3. I’m just thankful it was the mud pit that was bottomless. Watching the river crossing brought me back to Nepal and the bridge style they used there. That was a great video and I thought your balance looked good, but I do have some ideas on how we can work on it when you get back. See you soon!

  4. Dear Jim and Claire,
It was great to follow you on your trip.! Of course this was only possible becauze of the beautiful pictures and nice stories. The part of South America below Bolivia and Peru, is still on our list of places to visit. You gave us the idea to do it by bike maybe.
We don’t know when yet because for me it is not possible to take leave for 6 month. Only possible for one year. We’ll see.
Hope you had a good comming home!
    All the best,
    Nico

    1. Great to hear from you Nico and glad that we’ve maybe inspired you guys to try a bike tour. Don’t hesitate to contact us for some route suggestions.

Coming home has been great. The weather has been beautiful. It’s fun to reconnect with our friends and the broader community of which we are very much part of. We are truly blessed to live in what we (ie., the outdoor community of Squamish) all call paradise!

      Keep in touch.
      All the best

  5. Thanks Claire and Jim. It is time for you to return hime. I am exhausted by your trip! I hope that it was the experience that you wished, in every way. Your energy is a beacon to all of us, as are your writing and social outlook.

Nevertheless, I would be thrilled to see, just for balance, a picture of you two on a lovely sunset balcony. Pleasantly dressed and coifed sipping champagne, and staring into each others eyes,,,with healed lips at the ready. Enough of the rough stuff. Absolutely enough!!,,

Have a wonderful trip home. I look forward to seeing you both, when you heal.

    Love always, Lorraine 🙏🌹
